About EZ-Mount
The EZ-Mount Company was born from an idea conceived out of necessity by me,
Stanley Klonowski, a cabinetmaker of 37 years. I needed a way to install
the then-new European style hinge plates on cabinets. The obvious, and
at the time standard, method of installing the hinge and plate on the
door and balancing it as you found the appropriate position on the
cabinet was; slow, tedious and often led to mistakes and dropped door
panels. In the cabinet business then, as today, it does not take many
mistakes to start damaging your bottom line.
I created the
EZ-Mount product line
as a way to keep pace with shops that had larger production capacities
and more sophisticated machinery. That is when I started to fabricate my
own jigs to help install hinges. Over the years I built
jigs from many materials none of which lasted to my satisfaction.
Finally, I decided to bring the jig to the public. I brought the first
batch of EZ-Mount Jigs to market in November of 2004.
The first product was the
Original EZ-Mount jig for the Blum cast steel hinge plates, closely followed
by jigs for the Blum stamped steel plates, and the Salice
Hinges. All of these products were released in an effort to help the
small shop owner compete in the ever more competitive production
environment. In product testing it was determined that a single worker
could install over 400 doors in one 8 hour day using a basic shop drill
press. I have continued to introduce new products since then including
the only cross manufacturer face frame hinge jig. This year I am proud
to introduce the EZ-Mount Hinge, designed specifically to work with the
EZ-Mount Jig. We plan to allow the hinge consumer direct access to the highest
quality hydraulically damped hinge that we sell complete and ready
to install.
While I love the creativity involved in the
cabinet trade it seemed it was time for me to take on the next
challenge. I have been fortunate in my successful, 37 year career in the
woodworking industry to have been taught and mentored by some of the
finest craftsmen in the world. Many of them are no longer around to pass
on their skills and tips.
Designing and manufacturing the
EZ-Mount product
line is my way of giving back to an industry that I love and that has
been so good to me over the years. I feel that if I can help craftsmen
across the nation make their jobs easier and give them the ability to
compete without having to invest in giant computer driven machinery or
special software that would be a great legacy.
As a cabinetmaker and founder of
EZ-Mount, I would
encourage all craftsmen and artisans to share and develop your ideas to
help promote the quality and skill of our craft. This is the driving
force behind each and every EZ-Mount product. I welcome
